Storing your muffins in either raw batter form or baked, could dramatically improve the shelf life of the product.
Even though our products do contain a small amount of preservatives, it is still important to store them correctly!
Storing in the fridge: (not recommended)
Once your muffins are baked and completely cooled, wrap them in cling film and simply place them in the fridge for up to 7 days. When you want to eat them, just remove the cling film, place in the microwave for a few seconds and there you have it! The heat will rehydrate the starches in the muffin making it taste like it just came from the oven! Please note that we don't recommend this storing method. Most baked or bread like items do not store well in a fridge.
Storing outside of the fridge:(recommended)
Place a sheet of wax paper in a plastic container and place your baked and cooled muffins on top of the sheet. Close the container with a lid that has a tight seal. Place in a cool, dark spot for up to 3 days; reheat as described above.
You can store your raw batter in the fridge for up to 7 days but look out for the batter rising! Because of the rising agents inside the batter, any form of heat will cause it to react. The best way to store the raw batter is to keep it frozen. You can thaw your batter in the fridge, scoop out what you need and refreeze the batter.
Storing in the Freezer:
Once your baked muffins are cooled down, wrap them in cling film then wrap a sheet of tin foil around them. Freeze for up to 3 months! When you want to eat your muffins, remove the foil and cling film and place in the fridge to thaw slowly or you can place the muffin in the microwave to thaw. Just remember to remove the foil and cling film before hand! ;)
